Sharmila is cautious over Congress' conditions. Congress party bolstered by its victory in Karnataka is concentrating all its energies on two Telugu states Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. In Telangana, the party is getting a boost with the joining of former BRS leaders like Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao.
It is now concentrating on AP and trying its best to revive its lost glory. For long rumors are spreading about YSR's daughter Sharmila's entry into the party. Congress according to sources is coming up with various conditions even as Sharmila who is unable to power her party singlehandedly in Telangana is planning to merge it in the Congress. She is planning to grow as a key leader in Congress and inside talk is she is planning to become a Minister contesting the elections as MLA if the party wins.
Congress is ready to welcome Sharmila into the party but they are putting conditions that she should take care of the party in AP. Sharmila is however keen to show her strength in Telangana and she is highlighting the fact that she did padayatra. But T-Cong leaders are not keen to welcome her and they are pointing to her Rayalaseema origins.
They feel that if Sharmila is inducted into T-Congress, KCR will rake in the Andhra sentiment and use it against them. They also point out how they suffered entering into an alliance with Chandra Babu's TDP. Sharmila is keen to contest from Paleru, Khammam district. Bhatti Vikramarka, Komatireddy is supporting Sharmila but Priyanka Gandhi is keen to bestow Sharmila the party's AP responsibility. Congress feels Sharmila's presence in AP will bolster its image and bring back YSRCP leaders into the party. Sharmila is keen to campaign for the party in Telangana but Congress is keen to use her services in two Telugu states.
