Revanth asks farmers to question KCR. TPCC chief Revanth Reddy launched an all out attack on CM KCR and the ruling BRS party in Telangana. Revanth Reddy said KCR and his government are leaving farmers in a lurch and luring them with false promises. He said no country can survive if farmers are ignored and insulted.
He attacked KCR and BRS for politicizing even the issue of farmers woes and allowing them to end their lives committing suicides. He said "After having failed to use the Rythu Vedikas for any constructive purpose, the BRS is out to use them for politicking. No country can progress leaving the farmers in the lurch. The sight of farmers hanging themselves or consuming pesticide is heart-wrenching. With the state government having filed its last Budget, the much-vaunted promise to waive loans of farmers has not been kept. It’s become clear now that the government is not keeping its word."
Revanth continued "The government had promised to waive loans of 31 lakh farmers, to the tune of 20,000 crore. The farmers who have been taken for a ride are resorting to suicide. The orders to deposit money to the accounts of farmers, for paddy procured from them, has remained on paper. As of June 15, the government owed farmers `6,800 crore,"
He accused the KCR government of cheating the farmers. He said "The government has even taken back lakhs of acres of assigned lands given by the government. Having failed to give any land to the SCs and STs, the BRS government made a spectacle of distributing documents for four lakh acres of podu lands, when the actual verified beneficiaries are seeking 11.5 acres from across the state."
He added "The Centre and the state are apportioning the blame on to one other on buying paddy. The farmers should question them when they visit the Rythu Vedikas,"
