KCR to leave Gajwel for Kamareddy

KCR to leave Gajwel for Kamareddy. Politicians generally take strategic decisions ahead of the elections to boost the prospect of their party. In the run-up to the 2024 elections, parties are coming up with interesting and exciting strategies. Now reports are coming that Telangana CM KCR, BRS chief is planning to leave his current constituency Gajwel and will be contesting the next elections from Kamareddy.

KCR has been representing Gajwel ever since the formation of the Telangana state in 2014. Former CMs, Chandra Babu, YSR and his son Jagan are dedicated to their constituencies Kuppam and Pulivendula. Sr NTR however changed his constituencies winning from Hindupur (three times), Gudivada, Tirupati, Nalgonda, and Tekkali. He also contested once from Kalwakurthy but lost.

KCR represented Siddpet three times on the TDP ticket and one time as TRS leader and won as MP from Karimnagar and Mahaboobnagar. In Gajwel, Chandrashekar Rao had polled 125,444 votes (60.45 percent) of the total votes polled in the last election in 2018, contesting as incumbent Chief Minister, against Congress candidate Pratap Reddy Vanteru, who got 67,154 votes. Earlier, in 2014, Rao polled 86,694 and won against the same person, Pratap Reddy Vanteru, who was then the TD candidate and received 67,303 votes.

KCR decided to change its constituency after conducting various surveys and deciphering the mood of the people which is changing rapidly. He zeroed in on Kamareddy after examining the survey findings in Siddipet and Dubbaka.
