Telangana CM KCR and the BRS leaders are spending sleepless nights when Kavitha's name popped up in the Delhi liquor scam and ED mentioned her name in the chargesheet. With the BJPleaders claiming that Kavitha would be arrested and sent to jail, their anxiety increased.
When Kavitha appealed against ED summons in the Supreme Court, she did not get any relief in March. The Supreme Court did not five her any exception and instead tagged her case with two similar pending cases involving Nalini Chidambaram, wife of former Union minister P. Chidamabaram, and Trinamul Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee.
But finally, Kavitha got a relief from Supreme Court in the Delhi liquor scam. On her counter that a woman cannot be summoned to testify before the ED in its office in person and that the questioning should take place at her home, Supreme Court said that it will take a decision soon. Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaur directed the ED to file a counter in six weeks and asked Kavitha to come with a rejoinder two weeks after ED's counter. Kavitha breathed easy and BRS leaders are claiming that Kavitha is innocent and soon she will be acquitted.
