Major decisions in CM KCR's cabinet meeting. CM KCR held cabinet meeting and the marathon meeting which continued for more than six hours concluded with CM KCR taking many major decisions. The meeting assumed significance as CM KCR held it in the runup to the 2024 elections.
The major decisions included the merger of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) with the government apart from releasing of Rs 500crs for the flood victims, relief and repair works in the rain-affected areas, and also allotment of Rs 69,100 crore expansion plan of the Metro Rail services. The cabinet also discussed the possibility of passenger flight operations from the existing defense airport at Hakimpet since the Shamshabad airport was handling about 2.5 crore passengers every year.and also approved the revival of Mamnoor airport in Warangal.
Minister KTR sharing the details of the cabinet meeting said “Farmers who lost their lives during the rains will receive the ex-gratia in addition to the Rythu Bima assistance that they are eligible for,” “The Centre is making a mockery of the people’s mandate, the elected government and the Assembly by misusing the Governor system, by keeping the bills passed by the Assembly pending. This is utter disregard for democracy with elected governments being overruled using Governors,”
He said the Government decided to form an Orphan Policy and added “Until they have their own family, the State government will provide necessary support to orphan children,” The Cabinet also approved new government medical colleges in the new eight districts of the state.
