In a significant development on the eve of the Lok Sabha polls in Medak district, Telangana police intercepted a vehicle in Masaipet suspected of ferrying cash for illicit voter influence.
The car was found to contain a substantial sum of 88 lakh 43 thousand rupees. It is believed that this money was earmarked for distribution among voters in the Dubbaka constituency of the Medak Parliament.
Following the discovery, law enforcement promptly apprehended the driver and impounded the vehicle. This incident underscores the persistent challenge of cash-for-votes in the region, shedding light on the ongoing efforts to uphold electoral integrity amidst such malpractices.
