KT Rama Rao, the Working President of the BRS, has been interviewed by ANI. A portion of the interview has gone viral on social media, thanks mostly to the online supporters of the INDI Alliance.
In the interview, KTR opines that the whole 'If not Modi, then who?' narrative is silly. "In 2004, the question was: 'If not Vajpayee, then who?'. We know what happened next after the NDA lost the election. Modi is compared with Rahul Gandhi just because it makes the former look better," KTR argues.
He then goes on to opine that it can be 'Modi versus the Constitution of India'. The Sircilla MLA wants the option of PM candidate to be kept open so that the name can be figured out after the election results come out. "Last I checked, we are not a Presidential system of democracy but a Parliamentary system of democracy," he adds in the interview.
Doesn't KTR remember the narrative built by the BRS in 2018 Assembly elections, for example? The BRS has always thrived by showing KCR as the strongest leader, much like how the BJP tries to thrive by projecting Modi as one without an alternative. If the BRS can run a Presidential style of campaign, why can't the BJP do the same?
