ACB Raids Uncover 45 Lakhs Cash, 65 Tolas Gold at ACP Umamaheswara Rao's house

The Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) launched a sweeping operation targeting one of its own, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Umamaheswara Rao, amidst allegations of corruption within the police department.

ACB initiated simultaneous raids across six locations in Hyderabad, including Rao's residence at Ashoka Ornata Apartments in Ashok Nagar. The raids were part of a wider investigation into Rao's alleged disproportionate assets, with the agency unearthing a staggering cache of 45 lakhs in cash and 65 tolas of gold.

Rao, currently serving at the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS), has a history mired in controversy, with previous entanglements in high-profile cases, including the Sahithi Infra matter. Accusations against him point to significant irregularities and abuse of his official authority.
