Speaking at the MLC campaign recently, KTR commented that BRS candidate Rakesh Reddy is a gold medalist at the Bits Pilani college while the Congress candidate Teenmaar Mallanna is a palli batani candidate.
Congress took offense to this and KTR has landed in trouble with the EC now.
Dr Mallu Ravi of Congress in his complaint alleged “KTR criticised the INC party candidate Teenmaar Mallanna aka Chinthapandu Naveen Kumar, in a gratuitous and insulting manner by using that Mallanna is a palli - batani and also, he stated that this election is in between BITS Pilani and Palli Batani. Mallanna is a highly qualified person having the degree from Kakatiya University, Post Graduation (Journalism) from Osmania University and MBA from JNTU There is no meaning to use that type of derogatory words i.e., he is a palli - batani.
Congress alleged “The version and vocabulary of K. Tarakarama Rao will definitely attract the Model Code of Conduct of the Election Commission of India for insulting the other candidates in the election fray. He has not only insulted all the graduates of OU and KU varsities by comparing with a private deemed university of Rajasthan”.
