Polling for the Graduate MLC by-election in the Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal districts concluded on Monday evening.
The by-election featured 52 candidates, including 38 independents, vying for the seat. A total of 600 polling centres accommodated the 4,63,839 registered graduate voters, consisting of 2,88,189 males, 1,75,645 females, and 5 transgender individuals.
Teenmar Mallanna, backed by Congress, and Rakesh Reddy, supported by BRS, emerged as the leading contenders in the race.
Meanwhile, the counting of votes is scheduled for the 5th of next month. Recently, the state of Telangana also witnessed Parliamentary elections, that concluded on May 13, while the results are expected to be released on June 4, 2024.
