A Grand Initiative: Producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao to Fund 10 Films with ₹30 Crore for TFDA Members

In a landmark move for the Telugu film industry, veteran producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao has announced a massive project to produce ten films with a total budget of ₹30 Crore specifically for the members of the Telugu Film Directors Association (TFDA).

A press meet was organized by the TFDA on Monday to express their profound gratitude toward the producer. The event saw the attendance of TFDA President V.N. Aditya, Treasurer Sai Rajesh, Vice President Samudra, and prominent directors such as Ajay Kumar, Prasanna Kumar, and Naveen Medaram.

A Vision for Employment and New Talent

TFDA President V.N. Aditya highlighted that the new committee’s primary focus is on Education, Health, and Employment.

  • A Massive Opportunity: By funding ten films, the project will provide employment not just to ten directors, but to nearly 150 assistant directors and numerous technicians.

  • Script Selection Committee: To ensure quality, a special committee involving senior directors like Ajay Kumar and Prasanna Kumar has been formed to filter bounded scripts submitted by association members.

  • Profit for the Union: In a noble gesture, Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao has declared that any profits generated from these films will be donated back to the Directors Association.

Returning to Disciplined Filmmaking

Sharing his journey, Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao emphasized the need for discipline and efficiency in modern filmmaking.

  • Efficiency is Key: Recalling his experience with hits like Jeevitha Khaidhi, which was shot in 40 days and earned massive returns, he urged directors to focus on high-quality content and strict schedules.

  • Supporting the Backbone: He expressed his desire to stand by directors and talented creators who are struggling due to the decreasing number of theaters and limited opportunities. He insisted that shoots must begin punctually at 7:00 AM to maintain production standards.

Reactions from Industry Veterans

The announcement has been hailed as a "divine blessing" by the association leaders:

  • Sai Rajesh (Treasurer): "We won the elections with a promise of providing employment, and Chadalavada garu has arrived like a god to fulfill that promise on Ugadi."

  • Prasanna Kumar: He reminded the audience of the producer's previous philanthropic efforts, including donating crores to Chitrapuri Colony families during the pandemic and promising flats for journalists.

  • Director Samudra: He confirmed that while the producer is willing to bear any losses, 50% of the profits will be allocated to the TFDA welfare fund.

  • Naveen Medaram: Citing the success of low-budget hits like 90's - Middle Class Biopic, he noted that ₹30 Crore for ten films is a significant boost for independent and small-scale cinema.

Technical Focus

The initiative aims to revive the culture of shooting films within 30 to 40 days, ensuring that budget control remains a priority without compromising on commercial values. By focusing on rooted storytelling and disciplined execution, the TFDA aims to introduce a new wave of technicians to the industry.
