King of Entertainment Sree Vishnu is all set to charm audiences with his wholesome entertainer "#Single," presented by the prestigious Geetha Arts banner. The film features Ketika Sharma and Ivana as the female leads, with Vennela Kishore playing a pivotal role. Karthik Raju has directed this film, which is presented by Geetha Arts' mega-producer Allu Aravind and produced by Vidya Koppineedi, Bhanu Pratap, and Riyaz Chowdary under the Kalya Films banner. The already released teaser, trailer, and songs have created significant buzz around the movie, which is slated to hit theaters on May 9th. In a recent press meet, director Karthik Raju shared insights about the film.
Your films usually have a horror or action touch. How was it doing a love and fun movie like "Single"?
-My first Tamil film was a comedy entertainer, produced by SPB Garu. Basically, I am a VFX supervisor. I have worked on many big Telugu films like Pokiri, Okkadu, Varsham, Athadu, Sainikudu. It was then that I developed an interest in film direction. I directed "Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene" with Sundeep Kishan Garu.
When did you narrate this story to Sree Vishnu Garu?
-I narrated this story to Sree Vishnu Garu during the COVID period. He had just done "Brochevarevarura" at that time, a film I really like. We talked a lot after the narration. Later, in 2023, I narrated this story to Geetha Arts, and they liked it a lot. That's how the journey of this film started. I have watched all of Sree Vishnu Garu's films. Vishnu Garu's body language and timing are very unique. In this film too, audiences will see him with a separate body language and timing. The film is full of fun. Also, Vennela Kishore Garu's character is very important in this film. His character is there for 90% of the story. Audiences will really enjoy their fun chemistry.
Tell us about Ketika and Ivana.
-Ivana and Ketika are both amazing actors. I really liked Ivana's performance in "Love Today," and her performance in this film is also very cute. Ketika has also done her role wonderfully. Both their characters have equal importance in this story.
How was your experience with Geetha Arts?
-I consider it my luck to work with Geetha Arts. They provided everything needed for the film without any compromise. We enjoyed working on this project a lot.
What about writers Bhanu and Nandu?
-I narrated this story in Tamil. When I wrote it, the dialogues were in Tamil style. To adapt them to Telugu, I worked with Bhanu and Nandu. The dialogues are very fun-filled. Sree Vishnu Garu added a lot of fun in the dubbing. If the script was 60%, he elevated it to 100%.
How is the music in "Single"?
-Vishal Chandrasekhar has given beautiful music. All the songs in this film are in sync with the story. Audiences will really enjoy the songs.
Does "Single" have emotion along with fun?
-This is a very sentimental story. There is an emotional sequence in it. The sequence with Rajendra Prasad Garu is very emotional, and it's one of my favorites. It was a pleasure working with a senior actor like Rajendra Prasad Garu.
Being a Tamil director, how does it feel to make a film in Telugu?
-There is no problem here. All the artists here speak good Tamil. They take very good care of me. I understand Telugu. My father is Telugu. We settled in Tamil Nadu from Nellore.
Will there be a sequel to "Single"?
-There is an idea. Along with this, I have two or three stories for Sree Vishnu Garu. I really enjoy working with him. I really like his body language and timing. I want to work with him again and again.
