"Seven Hills Satish Steps Into Direction With a Fresh Vision — Announces New Projects on His Birthday"

Seven Hills Satish, the driving force behind content-rich films like Battala Ramaswamy Biopic, Coffee with a Killer, and Solo Boy, has officially announced his transition from producer to director. At a media event held on his birthday (October 23), Satish shared his plans for the future, marking an emotional and exciting new chapter in his cinematic journey.

From Producer to Director

Satish revealed that direction was always his first passion. While he entered the industry with dreams of becoming a filmmaker, he chose to start as a producer to understand every aspect of cinema — from financing and production to marketing and audience behavior. Now, after successfully producing three diverse projects, he feels confident to fulfill his longtime dream of directing. His directorial debut will begin production next year, under the banner of a close friend’s production house.

Upcoming Projects Under Seven Hills Productions

Satish announced that two fresh projects are currently in development under his Seven Hills Productions banner. One will be directed by Praveen Pudi (known for his editing work on several hits), and another by Rajasekhar Gaddam, which is currently in the scripting stage. He also confirmed that a long-delayed project starring Narne Nithin will soon resume production with a reworked story, after initial delays caused scheduling changes. Both films are expected to take off in 2026.

The Inspiration Behind His Decision

Satish credited his mentor, V.V. Vinayak, for inspiring his move toward directing. “Vinayak garu once told me — start directing while you’re young, when the passion still drives you,” Satish shared. Taking that advice to heart, he decided to make his directorial dream a reality this year.

During the press meet, Satish also cut his birthday cake in the presence of media members and close friends — a first for him — and expressed delight that his birthday coincides with Rebel Star Prabhas’s birthday, calling it an “added blessing for luck and inspiration.”

His Vision as a Filmmaker

Satish emphasized that his debut film as a director would be a low-budget, high-content entertainer with fresh characters and a gripping, feel-good script. He believes today’s audiences prefer entertainment balanced with emotional engagement. “People come to theaters to laugh and connect. Films like Balagam and Little Hearts have shown that simple stories with heart always work,” he explained.

He further added, “A debut movie defines your capabilities. It’s the one that shows the world who you are as a filmmaker. So I want to make something genuine, funny, and memorable for everyone.”

A Strong Belief in New Talent

Having worked mostly with newcomers as a producer, Satish intends to continue that practice in his directorial ventures too. He believes new artists bring enthusiasm and discipline, which help smaller films run smoothly without scheduling conflicts. However, he also expressed his desire to work with bigger stars in the future, particularly Natural Star Nani, whom he calls his favorite Telugu hero.

Experience & Future Goals

Recalling his journey, Satish said, “I entered the industry as an assistant director and later turned to real estate to fund my filmmaking dreams. I knew this industry was unpredictable, but cinema has always been my passion. You don’t enter films with just interest — you need madness, and that madness drives me.”

He also thanked his friends in the industry — Venky Atluri, Sampath Nandi, Venu Yeldandi, Sagar Chandra, and Nandini Reddy — for their support and guidance. His ultimate goal is to earn recognition through quality filmmaking that connects with hearts, not just box office numbers.
