On this occasion, actor Sudheer Babu shared details about the film at a press conference organized by Arora.

Key Takeaways from Sudheer Babu's Interview

On the Story and Concept of 'Jatadhara'

  • Initial Reaction to the Script: "When we were kids, we used to hear folk tales and stories from Chandamama. There was a popular tale about 'treasure buried in the ground in a bank-less era, guarded by a pishachi (ghost) through a spell.' This film is based on such a folklore concept. They have brought that kind of story into the present time and presented it very interestingly."

  • Layered Narrative: "The film has different layers. There are stories about ghost hunting, family emotion, devotional aspects, and Lord Shiva. There is also a mention of Arunachalam. The story provides solutions to the conflict in the film by drawing from some of our ancient mythological tales. The flashback episode was very exciting for me to do. This film is a blend of action, family drama, and mythology, with all emotions fitting in perfectly."

On His Emotional Speech at the Pre-Release Event

  • Reason for Emotion: "I spoke emotionally because I have never done so before (smiles). Many people in the industry know my journey, but I spoke so that those who don't know could learn about it. When I go to events to support newcomers, I often hear comments that it's easy for me but difficult for those without an industry background. In reality, it is difficult for everyone here, including me. I made those comments with that intention."

On His Character in 'Jatadhara'

  • The Role: "I play a ghost hunter. However, my character doesn't believe in the existence of ghosts. He has faith in God and believes in science. Why he is like that will be revealed in a very interesting way in the film."

  • The Title's Significance: "The title 'Jatadhara' (bearer of matted hair, referring to Shiva) immediately suggests a divine film. It becomes clear that Lord Shiva will arrive in the end. But the journey to reach that point is very exciting and will thrill the audience."

On Choosing the Mythological Genre

  • Not a Trend Follower: "No. We cannot predict whether the current trend will last two years. I don't select a subject based on a trend. I have never done that in my career. It's a coincidence that this genre is currently trending. The teaser and trailer have received a wonderful response. The business is also great. A major banner like Zee Studios is producing it. Everything is positive. This is a film that will appeal to everyone, without any distinction between A, B, or C centers."

On Bringing a Project from the North to Telugu

  • An Original Telugu Film: "This is a Telugu film. However, the producers came from the North. They came with the intention of making a Telugu film. They wanted to collaborate with me and Nani. They narrated a story, but I didn't like it much. After a few days, they asked if I had any stories. That's when we narrated the story we were developing, which they liked, and then production started."

On Working with Sonakshi Sinha and Shilpa Shirodkar

  • Sonakshi Sinha: "Sonakshi is a wonderful actress. Her looks are very South Indian. Her performance will impress everyone. She added a lot of value to the character of the Dhana Pishachi (Treasure Ghost)."

  • Shilpa Shirodkar: "Shilpa garu appears as a character named Shobha. She acted brilliantly. It is a character with a lot of heavy performance involved. She will get many good opportunities after this film. Her performance is outstanding."

On Technical Aspects

  • Music: "Rajeev has done a wonderful job. There is a Shiv Tandav episode in the film. It will give a great experience in the theaters."

  • VFX: "This is not entirely a VFX-dependent film. The VFX work is present in the portions featuring Sonakshi Sinha. It has turned out brilliantly, and the audience will feel it's very natural."

  • Working with Zee Studios: "They are very experienced producers. They have made many successful films. They have complete faith in the content and provided everything necessary for the film."

On Other Actors and Promotions

  • Cast: "The cast includes well-known Telugu actors like Avasarala Srinivas garu, Rajiv Kanakala garu, Jhansi garu, Kishore, Pradeep Rawat, and Shilpa Shirodkar. All their characters are very well-etched and fit the story perfectly."

  • Fan Interaction: "It is always happy to interact with fans. Their response gives a lot of energy. I also spoke to some fans on Instagram calls. I am not usually very active on social media, but interacting with the fans this time brought me great joy."

Personal Takeaways and Future

  • Belief in Spirits: "The film has a concept about how spirits interact with us. I watched some documentaries for this film and learned about certain equipment. While learning all this, I felt that such spirits might actually exist. Not completely, but I feel like I should lightly believe (smiles)."

  • The Journey So Far: "On the day I did my first film, SMS, I never thought I would do 20 films. This journey brings me joy. I have given 100% to every film. I work hard day and night for every character. Looking back, I feel I deserve much more."

  • Bollywood Offers: "I got a few offers after Baaghi. However, my focus has always been on Telugu cinema."

  • Next Projects: "I have a film with Rahul Ravindran. The concept is something that hasn't come out in world cinema so far. Concept-wise, it's like a Baahubali. I also need to do the Pullela Gopichand biopic."

  • Final Output: "The film has come out wonderfully. It won't bore you anywhere. The narration is very, very interesting. The audience will be very thrilled."
