The highly anticipated mythological rural drama VanaVeera, originally titled Vanara, is all set for a grand worldwide theatrical release on January 1, 2026. After the censor board’s objection to the original title, the makers have officially rebranded the film as VanaVeera.
The film introduces Avinash Thiruveedhula as both lead actor and director, with Simran Choudhary playing the female lead and Nandu appearing as the antagonist. Backed by Shanthanu Pathi and produced under Silver Screen Cinemas by Avinash Buyani, Alapati Raja, and C. Ankit Reddy, this cinematic venture stands out as a visually rich mytho-drama.
With dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra and music composed by Vivek Sagar, VanaVeera promises a compelling combination of strong writing, powerful emotions, and musical resonance. The film’s trailer, launched in Hyderabad, has already built good buzz among moviegoers.
Cast and Technical Insights
Actor Harsha said the story revolves around a son’s struggle for his father, adding that the film carries deep emotional weight. “We’ve put our hearts into this project, and I hope audiences experience that on January 1,” he stated.
Actor Bobby described VanaVeera as a mass entertainer designed for both youth and family audiences, perfectly timed to attract crowds before Sankranti.
Cinematographer Chota K. Prasad highlighted the team’s two-year journey to craft the film’s world and appreciated Kiran Abbavaram for unveiling the trailer. “Earlier people embraced the title Vanara, now they must carry VanaVeera forward,” he remarked.
Lead actress Simran Choudhary shared, “The film beautifully blends fun, mystery, thrills, and romance. Telugu audiences have always embraced good cinema, and we’re confident VanaVeera will start 2026 on a positive note.”
Producer and Guest Remarks
Producer Shanthanu Pathi explained the reason behind the title change — “Due to the censor board’s objection, we re-registered the title as VanaVeera. We’ve already invested heavily in promotions, and now we request the media’s support to help this new name reach audiences.”
He further assured that the movie is a complete family entertainer with high production quality, saying, “It may be made on a modest budget, but it will feel like a grand cinematic experience on the big screen.”
Guest producer Rajesh Danda, who attended the trailer event, praised the top-notch CGI work and shared, “Even big films struggle to match this visual quality. I admire Avinash for fulfilling his father’s dream by becoming both a hero and a director. With such dedication, this film deserves success.”
Director’s Words
Director and lead actor Avinash Thiruveedhula expressed disappointment about the last-minute title change, saying, “For small producers, it’s not easy to make such changes just days before release. We’ve already spent huge sums on marketing under the old name. The media must now help us make VanaVeera reach everyone.”
He added that the story is set in a rural, mythological backdrop and explores themes of caste and politics. “Because of the word Vanara, the censor felt it might be misinterpreted due to religious sensitivity. We respected their decision but believed such issues should have been addressed earlier. Despite everything, we are confident about our content—VanaVeera will not disappoint Telugu audiences.”
