The laughter-packed entertainer Hey Balwanth, featuring Suhas and Shivani Nagaram, has officially taken the box office by storm. Directed by Gopi Achara and produced by B. Narendra Reddy under the Trishul Visionary Studios banner, the film is presented by the hit-making duo Bunny Vas and Vamsi Nandipati.
Since its release on February 20, 2026, the film has garnered widespread acclaim for its non-stop humor. A major pillar of this success is comedian Sudarshan, whose character "Banka" has become a fan favorite. Speaking to the media this Sunday, the actor shared his excitement over the film’s "blockbuster talk."
"Banka" and the "Sudarshan 2.0" Phenomenon
Audiences are calling this a career-best performance for Sudarshan. The actor noted that the response to his character, Banka, has been overwhelming.
-
Scene Stealers: "The drinking sequence and the naturopathy center scenes with Vennela Kishore are receiving thunderous applause," Sudarshan shared.
-
The Synergy: He credited the film’s success to the natural chemistry between himself, Suhas, and Naresh, stating that their off-screen rapport translated into seamless comedic timing on screen.
On Leading Roles and Career Longevity
When asked about rumors of him transitioning into a lead hero role, Sudarshan offered a grounded perspective.
"I am not ready to take that risk right now. I am just beginning to find my footing as a comedian," he explained. "Comedians who became heroes usually did so after decades of establishing an identity. I want to work with all the big stars as a character actor first."
He further added that if he ever does a lead project, it would likely be a "concept-based film for OTT" rather than a mainstream theatrical release, as he fears playing a hero might limit the character roles he is offered.
A Busy Slate Ahead
Sudarshan's journey, which began with the short film Amerikaku Daredi and the hit Run Raja Run, has seen a massive surge lately. Following his successful stints in Samajavaragamana and Nari Nari Naduma Murari, the actor is currently one of the busiest comedians in the industry, even receiving offers from Tamil and Kannada cinema.
