There has been a lot of speculation and doubts surrounding the sudden re-release of the movie "Orange" for Ram Charan's birthday instead of his blockbuster hit "Magadheera". Many movie lovers were disappointed as "Orange" was a huge box office failure when it was first released in 2010, especially after the release of a prestigious movie like "RRR". However, Charan's fans have shown their support on social media and have announced their plans to watch the movie. Charan also announced that he will buy tickets specifically to watch the cult classic songs in the movie. Similarly, Pawan Kalyan's fans have also shown support for his fundraising shows for Janasena.
Interestingly, many theaters have been showing "Orange" to packed houses, with house full boards being put up in several places. Single-screen theaters like Devi, Sandhya, and Sudarshan have collected more than 17 lakhs in Hyderabad Cross Roads alone. To meet the demand, more screens have been added, with Asian Stars also showing the movie. This response is also seen in other areas like Kurnool and Kadapa, where mass movies are popular. Videos of the audience swaying and dancing to the songs have been shared on Twitter.
Nagababu, who produced "Orange," revealed that he went into deep depression due to the losses incurred by the movie, and that he would have died if not for the support of his younger brother Pawan Kalyan and elder brother Chiranjeevi.
Multiplexes were initially hesitant to screen "Orange" due to differences in percentage sharing, which resulted in a large percentage being limited to single theaters. However, trade experts believe that "Orange" could easily cross the collections of movies like "Jalsa" and "Khaleja". It is interesting to note that the movie that was once considered a box office failure and brought the idea of death to its producer has now turned into a crowd-puller.
