Actor-politician Kamal Haasan on Saturday spoke out against 'The Kerala Story', which was released in theatres on May 5. The Bollywood film has so far amassed more than Rs 200 Cr.
On the sidelines of an event in Abu Dhabi, the 'Vikram' actor said that he is opposed to propagandist films. But isn't 'The Kerala Story' claimed to be based on real incidents? "It's not enough if you write 'true story' just at the bottom as a logo. It has to really be true and that is not true," the 'Indian 2' actor said.
The Hindi film claims that 32,000 girls were fraudulently converted to Islam. Critics have lashed out at the film for exaggerating reality. As per NIA and other records, hardly three girls were converted.
Earlier in the day, Kamal criticized the Narendra Modi government for not inviting the President of India to the inaugural of the new Parliament complex in New Delhi.
On the film front, Kamal's next film 'Indian 2' is fast getting wrapped up. The film is directed by Shankar Shanmugham.
