Soon after watching 'Adipurush', a Twitter user put out a screen grab from the movie and wrote that he didn't know that Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has acted in the movie. It was in reference to a still of a Vanara from the Prabhas-Om Raut outing.
The tweet has landed the Twitter user, a resident of Maharashtra, in trouble. The Thane police immediately asked him to message them his phone number.
As per the news agency PTI, the police are currently on the lookout for the anonymous guy.
It appears that the Maharashtra police want to arrest him because he ostensibly made fun of the Chief Minister. But his joke itself is harmless. It is likely that the courts will pronounce a verdict in favour of the citizen even if the police attempt to subject him to a trial.
CM Eknath Shinde belongs to the Shiv Sena. In the past, the party hounded ordinary citizens who were critical of Bal Thackeray. "One hopes sense prevails this time. It would be unfortunate if the Twitter user is detained for an innocuous joke on the CM," a Netizen wrote.
