'Malli Pelli', an underrated Summer release, is up for OTT streaming. Amazon Prime Video and Aha Video are going to stream the movie simultaneously starting June 23. The OTT platforms have made the release date official.
When the movie was about to be released in theatres on May 26, VK Naresh's estranged wife Ramya Raghupathi tried to stall its release by filing a petition in a local Hyderabad court. Director MS Raju's film tells the story of Naresh's and Pavitra Lokesh's real-life love story by assigning fictional names to its lead characters.
"'Malli Pelli' is not a sanitized relationship drama. It doesn't bore you even if you have been over-exposed to the story of Naresh and Pavitra Lokesh. At the same time, it has no major creative ideas or mind-blowing up its sleeve. Your verdict will then entirely depend on whether you sympathize with the re-telling of the real-life events (involving real-life characters)," our review of the movie said.
Ananya Nagalla, Vanitha Vijay Kumar, Ravi Varma and others played different roles in 'Malli Pelli'. It has to be seen if the family audience are going to watch it on OTT, given the element of extra-marital love relationship at its core.
