Distributor 'Vizag' Satish of Gayatri Films is pursuing a criminal case against 'Bholaa Shankar' producer Anil Sunkara of AK Entertainments. Here are the details, as claimed by Satish.
Sometime in 2020 or so, Satish bought the theatrical release rights to Akhil Akkineni's 'Agent' from producer Anil Sunkara by paying a whopping Rs 30 Cr. The film got delayed due to the pandemic.
When 'Agent' was released in April this year, the release rights were with other distributors for all areas except Vizag. Satish raised an objection privately. As per Satish, Anil Sunkara promised to compensate by giving him (Satish) the rights to Chiranjeevi's 'Bholaa Shankar' (to be released in theatres on August 11).
As per Satish, the rights to 'Bholaa Shankar' have been given to others and not him. He has reportedly moved the court seeking "justice". He is hoping that the producer will be forced to compensate him immediately.
It has to be seen whether the issue will affect the release formalities of Chiranjeevi's movie if there are merits in Satish's complaints.
