Natural Star Nani today made a social media post in which he mentioned the title of a Tamil film, followed by a 'broken heart' emoji. We are talking about his Instagram story expressing disappointment over Suriya-starrer 'Jai Bhim' not securing a single National Award for the year 2021.
'Jai Bhim', which was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2021, was expected to bag at least the Best Feature Film in Tamil Award. But it was snubbed by the jury.
Nani, too, expected the film to make a mark. The 'Hi Nanna' and 'Dasara' actor is the only prominent Telugu actor to openly show his disappointment.
Nani's 'Shyam Singha Roy' has been described as a deserving one for the National Award. While its theme of fighting for the liberation of Devadasis was commendable, the film lacked a novel screenplay. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film starred Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty as the heroines.
