'Jailer', which was released in theatres on August 10, has grossed Rs 75 Cr in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana put together. Directed by Nelson, the film is led by Superstar Rajinikanth. The aforementioned box-office figure is as of August 25.
The figure has to be seen in the context of what dubbed movies are known to achieve in the Telugu States. Even Kamal Haasan's 'Vikram' had to make do with a gross of Rs 20 Cr or even less in 2022. Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' films collected lesser than what 'Jailer' has been able to pull off.
'Jailer', as per a trade report, has surpassed 'Avatar: The Way Of Water' and Shankar's 'Robot'. Only 'KGF2' and '2.0' have got more gross in the Telugu States.
Our review of 'Jailer', co-starring Vasanth Ravi, Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, and Sunil, described Rajinikanth and composer Anirudh Ravichander as the two heroes of the tale. "You won't be disappointed with the fights. And you will find the dark comedy engaging enough," we added. Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal have made cameo appearances in the movie.
