The postponement of 'Salaar' is almost official. It is clear that the pan-India film won't hit the screens on September 28. What is not clear is when it will be released.
Thinking that the action drama would be released in the last week of this month, several producers in Telugu and Hindi planned their movie release schedules accordingly. The postponement just four weeks before the scheduled release of 'Salaar' is now causing some urgency and even panic. It is not easy to go back to the drawing room and strategize release dates urgently.
Had the deferment news been made official in mid-August at least, the producers of other big-ticket and medium-range movies would have planned their schedules in a better way. And those who have planned their releases for December and Sankranthi are left in a state of confusion. Some of them might have planned to keep their films ready for a November release had they known 'Salaar' might release in December 2023 or January 2024.
Director Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films have disappointed not only Prabhas' fans but also the entire film industry.
