'Bholaa Shankar' is up for digital streaming Netflix today announced that the action entertainer will stream on its platform from September 15 in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Directed by Meher Ramesh, the film features Megastar Chiranjeevi and Keerthy Suresh as siblings from different mothers. While the sentiment portions worked in the Tamil original 'Vedhalam', the Telugu remake was a damp squib. AK Entertainments incurred heavy losses because of the movie, whose release brought in its way rumours about a fallout between producer Anil Sunkara and Chiru.
In our review, we described 'Bholaa Shankar' as an avoidable remake that takes the audience's tastes for granted. "A run-of-the-mill formula and a feeble sentimental hook have been deployed in the name of entertainment. It is a snoozefest of sorts," we opined. With music by Mahati Swara Sagar and cinematography by Dudley, the film suffered from a superficial screenplay and jaded dialogue. The action choreography by the Ram-Laxman duo and the dance choreography by Sekhar VJ were passable.
Chiranjeevi is going to do films with director Kalyan Krishna and Vassishta Mallidi.
