Siddharth's Tamil-language film 'Chithha' is dubbed into Telugu as 'Chinna'. The emotional thriller drama is going to hit the screens on October 6. In Tamil, its box-office potential has been on the surge. Released by Red Giant Movies in Tamil, the critically-acclaimed 'Chinna' borrows its title from the Telugu word 'Chinnanna'.
Addressing the Telugu audience on Tuesday, the 'Maha Samudram' actor said that he failed to release the movie (which is also produced by him) in Telugu on September 28 owing to lukewarm reception for it in trade. "I heard people ask who would watch my movie in Telugu," the 'Takkar' actor said, turning teary-eyed.
"I went to Bengaluru to promote the movie. There, I was termed a Tamilian and was asked to stop the presser (owing to the Cauvery protests)," Sid added.
The actor said that 'Chinna' is so unique a movie that film critics are wondering how the director could infuse so many relevant issues. "On a festival day, a young female child goes missing. What all is undergone by her family members in tracing her is what is the premise. I urge you all to watch 'Chinna' with your kids," he said.
The film will clash with a host of other releases such as 'MAD', 'Month Of Madhu' and 'Rules Ranjann' at the box office this Friday.
