Niharika Konidela, the actress and producer, has announced her first feature film. Her banner, Pink Elephant Pictures, has previously produced a couple of web dramas. For the first time, the fledgling banner has ventured into feature-length cinema.
Going by the cast and crew, the untitled film seems to be a small-scale outing with a feel-good script. The actors (read Sandeep Saroj, Yashwant Pendyala, Trinath Verma, Prasad Behara, Ishwar Rachiraju, Manikantha Parasu, Lokesh Kumar Parimi, and others) are unknown to the cine audience and seemingly lack the ability to be crowd-pullers.
In today's times, the audience are not flocking to theatres to watch movies that lack ambition, scale and/or novelty. Niharika must be aware of the scenario and might plan a formal release in theatres just for the sake of it. In all likelihood, she is producing this one for the OTT audience. One only hopes that the film doesn't feel like a YouTube series and that there is a degree of freshness to it.
Niharika divorced her husband, Chaitanya Jonnalagadda, earlier this year. They were granted divorce in July this year.
