It has been reported by a section of the media that Himaja, the Telugu TV personality and former Bigg Boss inmate, has been arrested in a raid by the Hyderabad Excise Police at a villa in JB Ventures. As per a major TV channel, Himaja was arrested in the alleged raid because she was "caught hosting a rave party".
In a video statement on Sunday, Himaja clarified that she was not arrested. "Officials did arrive at our place. They did their job and went away. There is absolutely no truth in the rumour that I and others have been taken into custody," Himaja said.
She accused TV9 and others of spreading fake news. "As you all can see, I have been making arrangements at my residence for the Diwali puja. You can see the arrangements for the puja. This is our first Diwali celebration at this new house of ours. If I did host a rave party, would I be hosting a puja? Diwali is a happy occasion for us. I have been receiving calls from friends after the fake news surfaced today. I have been getting a number of calls," Himaja said.
