Plot Twist: Ravi Teja's 'Eagle' skips Sankranthi

'Eagle', starring Ravi Teja in the lead, won't be a Sankranthi release. The action thriller was supposed to hit the screens on January 13.

On Thursday evening, it was made official that People Media Factory has agreed to move 'Eagle' to February.

Dil Raju, who leads the Telugu Film Producers Council, thanked Ravi Teja and producer TG Vishwa Prasad for agreeing to move the film out of the Sankranthi race to ease the tight situation. "Last time, there were only three Sankranthi releases. Yet, the 'raccha' was evident. This time, five films were in the race. It is now four after Eagle's exit. The brouhaha was only to be expected. I am thankful that 'Eagle' has opted out of the tight race," Raju said.

Dil Raju added that Mahesh Babu's 'Guntur Kaaram', Venkatesh's 'Saindhav', Akkineni Nagarjuna's 'Naa Saami Ranga' and 'Hanu-Man', in that order, are the most-preferred releases of Sankranthi. The first and last of those films will head to theatres on January 12. Dil Raju suggested that, ideally, 'Hanu-Man' should come out in theatres on January 11 or 14.

The postponement of 'Eagle' will benefit 'Hanu-Man', 'Saindhav' and 'Naa Saami Ranga' more than 'Guntur Kaaram'.
