In Telangana, CM KCR had preponed the assembly elections in 2018, although it was supposed to happen in 2019. Now, there are reports that KCR might again go in for early polls, though nothing is confirmed as yet. There have been similar speculations about what Jagan Mohan Reddy will be doing soon.

TDP and Jana Sena somewhere suspect that Jagan may prepone the polls and hence they too have been rushing ahead with their political strategies and plans. Jagan convened a large workshop of his leaders yesterday and clearly explained the results of several surveys that he has been organizing so far, including IPAC feedback from ground level.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, the CM of AP clearly told his MLA's that non performance will not be tolerated and they would all be shown the door if they don't meet the expectations. Initially the number of MLAs who didn't attend the gadapa gadapaku programme was close to 45 and now it seems to have come down to 20 finally.

Jagan has been categorical about what would happen and added that since the next elections are only 14 months away, it's high time that they should be prepared. In anticipation of this, Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu also wanted to wrap up their alliance talks. Moreover, many feel that there is no such need for Jagan to go for early polls because he doesn't have much of a benefit.

Jagan is confident that his administration is generating results and hence he may go for elections as scheduled in the summer of 2024. So in AP at least there won't be any advancement of polls and this gives ample time for both the ruling party as well as opposition parties to fine tune their battle plans for the next year's assembly polls.
