On Monday, YSRCP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had a busy schedule in Tadepalli as he met with a delegation from the World Bank. Led by its Country Director for India Auguste Tano Kouame, the eight-member delegation reviewed the special programs and schemes implemented in the state.
The government presented and explained the implemented schemes to the delegation, and they expressed satisfaction with the quality of learning projects in the state. The World Bank team also assured assistance, including financial and technical support, for the next few years.
Apart from learning, the World Bank team also reviewed special projects in Agriculture Transformation and Health Services. The Andhra's Learning Transformation (SALT) project, the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Irrigation and Agriculture Transformation Project, and the Improved Health Services Project were discussed during the meeting.
It is worth mentioning that the Andhra Pradesh government is giving special attention to the education sector. Schools in the state are being renovated under the Naadu-Nedu program, and recently the government provided tablets to students for their education.
Additionally, the Andhra Pradesh government is carrying out welfare schemes that cater to all sections of society. In 2021, the Indian Government and Andhra Pradesh signed a project with the World Bank worth $250 million to improve the quality of learning for over 5 million students in the state. This project will provide access to education and meet the needs of students with special needs.
