Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, has unexpectedly joined the BJP. He firmly believes that his future lies with the party and is now preparing a list of people who will join the BJP with him.
Kiran is reaching out to his close friends who were with him in the Congress party when he was the CM. He is personally talking to some of the leaders and trying to persuade them to join the BJP. These leaders are not ordinary people; they are well-known political figures who have not yet joined any party.
Some of the leaders who Kiran has identified are former PCC chiefs Raghuveera Reddy, Saake Shailajanath, former Kurnool district minister Erasu Prathapareddy, central minister from Godavari districts Pallam Raju, and former MP G Harsh Kumar. Kiran has already contacted some of them directly while sending emissaries to others. Pallam Raju is the most senior leader in East Godavari district and comes from a prominent political family of the Kapu community.
If he joins the BJP, it could change the entire political equation in the state. Leaders like Erasu Prathapareddy and G Harsh Kumar have their own strengths, while Raghuveera and Sake Shailajanath hold sway in their own areas.
Kiran Kumar Reddy plans to tour extensively in Andhra Pradesh to hold discussions with leaders from various districts. He aims to strengthen the BJP in the state and bring it to the attention of central leaders. Kiran Kumar Reddy believes that the migration of these Congress leaders to the BJP will make his faction strong in Andhra Pradesh. If it happens, then whatever leaders are remaining in AP Congress, they too will migrate leaving the party totally empty.
