UCC: CM Jagan to Muslim leaders. Ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament, AP CM Jagan, chief of YSRCP held discussions with the Muslim community and the prominent leaders. It is known that Modi's BJP lead NDA government is planning to introduce UCC (Uniform Civil Code). The ruling party has the majority in the Lok Sabha and the bill will be passed easily. However, in Rajya Sabha, it is looking for support from the opposition.
With CM Jagan and YSRCP adopting a friendly attitude towards NDA, it is expecting YSRCP to support the bill. In the meantime, CM Jagan held discussions with the Muslim leaders and Jagan clarified to them about the stand he is going to take. Reports are coming that Jagan's meeting with the Muslim leaders continued for three hours and Minister Amjat Basha said CM Jagan had given them assurance that they need not worry and even the draft on UCC did not get ready.
Muslim leaders said Jagan told them that if the UCC is against the Muslims and their community he will oppose it in the Parliament. He assured them that he will fight for their rights all the time and requested them to vote for the party in the upcoming elections.
