AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in his regime is fast-tracking all the development activities and also the pending projects. Growing jealous of AP going on the fast track, In the midst of all this, former AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu has been attacking the current dispensation over the various irrigation projects.
He accused CM Jagan of ignoring Polavaram project and neglecting other projects. He said under his regime 70% of the project had been completed including the diaphragm wall, two coffer dams, the earth cum rock fill dam, and also one gate. He said Jagan after assuming power, stalled the project delaying its completion starting reverse tendering.
He attacked Jagan saying he was responsible for the failure of the Polavaram project for notwithstanding the 2020 floods which damaged the coffer dams and the diaphragm walls. In the process, Chandra Babu conveniently hid the fact that during his regime diaphragm wall was damaged which cost Rs 2000 crs.
It is known that the diaphragm wall helps in preventing water seepage from the project. Chandra Babu's negligence resulted in damage to upper coffer dam. Chandra Babu also failed to construct the spill channel. Now people are seeing through Chandra Babu's lies in the Polavaram project.
