The state of Andhra Pradesh is witnessing heavy rains and the river Godavari is reaching the danger level. In the midst of all this, AP CM Jagan reviewed the flood situation of Godavari as the water level at Dowleswaram Barrage is reaching the danger mark.
CMO officials briefed Jagan about the situation in and around Eluru, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, and West Godavari districts and the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a second warning due to rising flood water in the Godavari river at Dowleswaram barrage in East Godavari districts.
APSDMA managing director BR Ambedkar said “By 7 PM on Thursday, the flood water inflow at Bhadrachalam is at the second warning level with the water level reaching 47.8 ft while water inflows and outflows at Dowleswaram were 13.05 lakh cusecs and at the second warning level,”
He directed the collectors to take preventive measures and stressed on the importance of effective relief and rehabilitation programs in the flood-affected areas. He directed all the MLAs and leaders to be with the people and ensure their safety and security in the wake of heavy floods. CM Jagan is insisting on helping the AP people in dire situation.
