Pawan Kalyan has reacted to the ongoing row over the insults hurled by Udhayanidhi Stalin of DMK and Priyank Kharge of Congress at Hinduism. In an address to his supporters, the Jana Sena Party chief opined that verbal attacks on the Hindu religion hurt all Hindus, not just Brahmins.
"You are wrong if you believe that your comments offend only Brahmins. Everyone who abides by Sanatana Dharma is offended. I urge everyone not to abuse Hindu Gods. You are scared of criticizing Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ. What gives you the dare to attack Hinduism?" Pawan Kalyan asked, giving the example of previous targeting of Lord Ayyappa's temple in Sabarimala.
The actor-politician said that he doesn't become a right-winger for criticizing those who abuse Hinduism. "If that makes me a right-winger, so be it. I am happy. It is wrong to insult Hinduism in the name of secularism," the 'OG' and ''Ustaad Bhagat Singh' actor said.
Pawan's comments must be music to the ears of BJP leaders. He has also conveyed to his political support base that he doesn't endorse hateful comments on the pretext of social justice and equality.
