Chandrababu Naidu has been arrested by AP CID earlier today with regard to the AP skill development scam, which according to the CID amounts to Rs 550 crore.
Incidentally, there appears to be a perfect calculation behind the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and the latest political developments in Andhra Pradesh are implying the same.
Naidu was arrested in the early hours of 9 September, which is a second Saturday holiday. Getting an emergency hearing in front of the magistrate is that much tougher now.
Moreover, it is primarily established that the CID is not just investigating the skill development board scam, they are also planning on investigating the inner ring road scam and also the fibernet scam.
Naidu isn't the only one is question now. His son Nara Lokesh is also said to be involved in several of these scams and the CID is looking to take legal action against him as well, if needed.
This aggressive anti corruption law enforcement just months before the election is a very interesting development in state politics.
