India sees a miracle: 100 kms road built in 100 hours

India has historically been notorious for monumental delays in the completion of infrastructure projects. But here is an exception. Far from delays, the construction happened at a record pace, setting the tone for a few more such projects in the coming years.

The Ghaziabad-Aligarh Expressway spanning a distance of 100 kilometers has been laid in just 100 hours. The expressway, the government says, will play a vital role as a transportation link between the densely populated regions of Ghaziabad and Aligarh.

"This project traverses various towns and cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Dadri, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, and Khurja. It serves as a critical trade route, facilitating the movement of goods and contributing to regional economic development by connecting industrial areas, agricultural regions, and educational institutions," wrote Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Twitter.

Cube Highways, L&T, and Ghaziabad Aligarh Expressway Pvt Ltd (GAEPL) are the players associated with the infra project.

The Modi government wants to showcase expressways and highways to the voters before the 2024 elections.
