Who will become PM in 2024? NDTV Poll has the answer...

A poll conducted by the Lokniti-Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS) in May this year has revealed that Narendra Modi will retain power and will come to power for the third time after the 2024 General Elections. The poll was conducted for the well-known national media house, NDTV. The survey was carried out with 7,202 respondents spread across 71 constituencies.

As per a report by the channel, around 43% of the respondents feel that the NDA should win a third straight term. About 38% disagree that NDA led by Modi deserves another term.

BJP would get a vote share of 40% if elections were held today, while the Congress will poll 11% less. "The BJP's vote share has increased from 2019 (37%) to 2023 (39%). So has the Congress's - 19% in 2019 to 29% in 2023," the poll says.

The Congress' stamina is growing. A conclusion is that regional parties are becoming weaker. Is it a sign that votes from parties like RJD and JD(S) are shifting to Rahul Gandhi's party because of the impact of the recent Bharat Jodo Yatra? A recent report concluded that the Yatra had a positive impact on the party's vote share in the recent Karnataka Assembly elections.
