Ayodhya Ram Temple roof leakage: No construction or design issue

The Ayodhya Ram Temple was inaugurated on January 22 this year. Six months later, its chief priest, Acharya Satyendra Das, has said that water leaks from the roof of the temple when there is heavy rainfall. "Nobody would have thought such a thing would have happened," he told PTI, the news agency.

Acharya's interview has shocked many. However, it seems, devotees needn't have any doubts regarding the quality of construction.

Nripendra Mishra, who is closely associated with the construction committee, said that the leakage was expected because the "Guru Mandap is exposed to the sky". So, what is the solution? He says that the second floor and completion of the main 'Shikhar' will cover the opening.

It is a work in progress. He confirmed that there is no drainage in the sanctum sanctorum because all the 'mandapas' have a measured slope for clearance of water. Mishra said that water in the sanctum sanctorum is manually absorbed.

It is reasonable to assume that a section of the media is amplifying only one side of the story for political reasons.
