Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy who had been a member of the BRS for many years, created a lot of dissent and complained about the injustice done to him in the party on various platforms. He recently met with Jupalli and both of them criticized KCR's behavior. However, both were eventually expelled from the BRS and he claims that he is now a free bird. He has received offers from various parties, including BJP, Congress, and YS Sharmila's party.
Although he met with Sharmila at her home, he has decided not to join her party. He stated that he cannot risk his political future by joining the YSR Telangana party headed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister YS Sharmila.
Ponguleti is left with two options: Congress or BJP. However, he believes that BJP has no real strength in Khammam and joining the party would be a political loss. Therefore, Congress seems to be a more viable option for him. He recently met with members of Rahul's team of the Congress party for about 6 hours and has reportedly asked for 10 tickets for his men.
His demands include giving the cantonment ticket as well as tickets for 9 constituencies in Khammam district except Madhira to his followers. It is uncertain whether Ponguleti will join the Congress party or not given his big demands.
