On Thursday, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made a statement at the party plenary that some of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLAs were involved in corruption in programs like the double bedroom housing scheme and Dalit Bandhu, which has caused trouble for him and his party.

Following this, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and the Enforcement Directorate to investigate the chief minister's statement on corrupt BRS MLAs. The BJP state general secretary, G Premender Reddy, stated that KCR's warning that the corrupt MLAs would be expelled was published in all major newspapers in the state.

According to the complaint, KCR claimed to have a list of MLAs who were extorting up to Rs 3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries and 2BHK housing scheme beneficiaries, both of which are flagship schemes of KCR involving thousands of crores of public money to benefit Dalits and the homeless poor.

Reddy said that KCR's statement created a stir among the people and that it required an investigation by investigation agencies since it involved thousands of crores of public money.
