The Telangana state chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, will name Somesh Kumar, a former chief secretary of the state government, as his Chief Advisor. We hear that the government will soon send out an official written confirmation that the decision had been made in this regard. For a while now, there have been rumours about the position of Somesh Kumar.
He was designated as an Andhra Pradesh cadre by the then-Pratyush Sinha Committee during the formation of Telangana state, but he remained in Telangana until December 2022 on instructions from the Central Administrative Tribunal.
He joined AP prior to the Sankranti festival after being finally transferred to that state by the High Court's decision, and eventually retired voluntarily. He will serve as the Telangana Chief Minister's chief advisor.
According to reports, Rajeev Sharma, a former CS and the first Chief Secretary of Telangana, will serve as the state government's chief advisor.
