KCR gives good news to VRA’s in TS

The KCR administration has good news for the state's VRAs. The decision to regularise the VRAs was made by the Telangana state Cabinet, which convened for the first time today in the new Secretariat. After almost six years, VRA's are relieved that their request has been granted. On February 24, 2017, KCR had previously met with the VRAs at Pragati Bhavan and made a first-time commitment to regularising their employment and changing the pay structure. Then, it was once again declared that the minimum pay scale will be applied to VRAs in September 2020, following the removal of the VRO system. It has been noted that the government will have an additional expense of Rs. 260 crore if the pay scale is revised.

The elderly VRAs reaffirmed their willingness to hire their children as VRAs if they so want. But after that, the administration paid little attention to the VRAs' objections, and on July 25, they eventually went on strike for an indeterminate period of time. There were 80 days of strike action up until October 14.

On September 13, KTR, the state's minister of information technology, entered the arena and spoke with the voluminous group of VRAs about the issue. The negotiations continued on the 20th of the same month in the presence of the CS Somesh Kumar. Ministers KTR and Harish Rao once more met with the VRA JAC leaders on October 14 at Pragati Bhavan.

They urged them to support the administration and have trust in themselves, assuring them that all of their issues will be handled. After the administration committed to comply with their requests after the elections, the VRAs ended their strike.
