HC orders not to erect NTR’s statue

On Thursday, the Telangana State High Court ordered that NTR's statue not be installed in the Khammam Lakkaram pond. The next hearing was adjourned to June 6. On Thursday, the High Court heard a plea filed by the organisers seeking to lift the stay imposed on the installation of NTR's statue in the middle of Khammam Lakkaram Lake. Additional Advocate General Ramchander Rao, who heard arguments on behalf of the organisers, said that the changes were made due to opposition to the installation of an idol in the form of Lord Krishna. It has been explained that the peafowl and chick groovy have been removed from the statue.

Meanwhile, the lawyer who heard the arguments of those opposing the installation of the idol said that according to the guidelines of the Supreme Court, the installation of an idol in a public place is not allowed. "If permission is given at the lake, it will be placed in the middle of the pond. If you want to put NTR's statue there, you can put it in the form of other characters worn by him. Apart from that, what is the purpose of placing an idol in the form of God?" the lawyer questioned. He asked to extend the stay on the installation of the statue. Ramchander Rao said that Sri Krishna is not the God of a caste but the worshipful God of the whole world. It is not reasonable to attribute caste to God. The court heard both sides and ordered that the statue not be erected. The Additional Advocate General submitted orders to the court stating that permission was granted for the installation of the statue, but the court rejected them.
