TS only state to provide safe drinking water. Dr. V Srinivas Goud, Excise Minister, speaking at a meeting in Mahaboobnagar said Telangana is the only state in the country that provides safe drinking water. As part of the Telangana decennial celebrations at Konda Mission Bhageeratha filter house, Srinivas Goud said through a centralized Mission Bhagiratha Water distribution network the state is providing safe drinking water to every household through taps.
He said “Before the formation of Telangana, each and every village, town and even the district headquarters had to face water problems. But, that problem no longer exists. Under the leadership of CM KCR, women who used to travel several kilometers to fetch a pot of water are now getting safe water at their doorsteps,”
He said one of the most successful projects is Mission Bhagiratha and so the government decided to celebrate ‘Freshwater Festival’ celebrations at all the Mission filtering plants in the state. It is known that as a part of the decennial celebrations of Telangana Formation Day, CM KCR and the ruling BRS have been promoting its achievements and how Telangana developed in all sectors under the able leadership of KCR>
As elections are fast approaching, analysts feels that KCR is facing anti-incumbency and it has to be seen how these celebrations will change the public perception.
