How KCR turned Telangana fertile. KCR is an astute politician and has knowledge of all the subjects and also is well aware of the geography of Telangana. When Telangana was bifurcated, there was a drought in all the districts of Telangana. The situation was no different in the united Andhra Pradesh. Every time framers used to protest due to droughts and police used to indulge in lathi charges and many suicides were reported.
After KCR became the CM, he gave utmost priority to the farming sector. He held intense discussions with the then agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and agriculture officers to find out the reason behind occurring of droughts. Following that he came up with a step-by-step strategy to solve the burning problem.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy used to go to Delhi ahead of the farming season and get clearance for the supply of fertilizers. KCR also ensured that godowns are increased for the storage of fertilizers and similarly increased the rake points and storage so that there will not be any shortage. He made sure that if other states do not buy the output, the government itself will procure it from the farmers.
He strengthened the distribution system and with abundant urea in storage, farmers never faced a shortage. Ministers say KCR ensured that farmers prosper in the agriculture sector and all the farmers shower praises on KCR for his foresight.
