Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao on Sunday said that Telangana Diagnostics, which was set up in 2018, has been a successful initiative. Established with the aim of reducing the "burden of out-of-pocket medical expenditure on the poor", T-Diagnostics provides free-of-cost diagnostic services in Hub & Spoke model, the TRS leader added.
Free pathological services (blood and urine tests) and free imaging services (read X-Ray, USG, ECG, 2D ECHO, Mammogram) have been provided by it. "Since inception, as many as 57.68 lakh patients have benefitted. About 10.40 crore tests have been performed," KTR added.
The diagnostics operate through its multiple centers in 31 districts. Plans are afoot to extend the scheme to two more districts," an official said.
When it was started in 2018, T-Diagnostics operated primarily in Hyderabad through 120 urban healthcare centres.
