Hyderabad red alert Heavy rains lash the city. Heavy rains are lashing the city of Hyderabad and Northern Telangana and IMD issued a red alert for the citizens asking them to take various precautions. The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert and now this has been changed to a red alert following the intensity of rains.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected across the combined districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Kothagudem, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, and Kamareddy. till Tuesday while Adilabad, Warangal district, as well as Nizamabad, RajannaSircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, JayashankarBhupalpally, Sangareddy, Rangareddy, Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts, are expected to witness heavy rains on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jayashanker Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad and Kumuram Bheem Asifabad districts on Thursday and Friday. A yellow alert is declared for 23 of the total 33 districts on Wednesday.
According to IMD, Hyderabad is experiencing rains due to a low-pressure area over west Jharkhand and adjoining north Chattisgarh and north interior Odisha has become less marked while the associated cyclonic circulation now lies over south Jharkhand and the neighborhood. A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal in 48 hours.
