Kishan Reddy and Raghunandan Rao were arrested along with other BJP leaders. BJP leaders planned to visit Bata Singaram village near Hyderabad to inspect the construction of double-bedroom houses for the poor under a state government scheme. However, even before they could march ahead, police arrested them in their houses.
Kishan Reddy, BJP Telangana chief planned to inspect the houses along with 60 leaders. But the police prevented them from stepping out of their houses. Even BJP national vice-president D.K. Aruna, MLA Eatala Rajender, and former MLC Ramachandra Rao were kept under house arrest. Police also presented BJP cadre and supporters from visiting the Batasingaram village.
In the midst of all this, Kishan Reddy posted "It yet again exposes the tyrannical rule under BRS. High-handedness and muzzling of opposition voice has become the hallmark of the KCR govt," Bharatiya Janata Party made this strategic move following a recent sit-in protest staged by Left parties at the GHMC central office. The BJP aims to make the double-bedroom flats scheme in the GHMC limits a significant electoral issue, mobilize public dissatisfaction, and raise awareness about the government’s failure to fulfill its promises.
BJP also decided to protest at Indira Park, Dharna Chowk, on July 25. exposing Government's inefficiently in double bedroom flats scheme.
